Susan Burke is the founder of Susan Burke Studio, a lifestyle brand specializing in interiors and event design with a signature collection of home decor, furnishings and pieces for entertaining.  Known for her attention to detail, deft eye and personal style, Susan brings polished sophistication and understated elegance to both her projects and collection.   After practicing law for a few years and deciding to pursue a more creative path, Susan began her design and events career working for design legend Dan Carithers in Atlanta, Georgia before opening her own firm in 2005.

In May 2018, Susan curated and launched a luxury home decor and furnishings collection with a pop-up showroom in Washington, D.C.  A reflection of Susan’s classical yet modern design sensibilities, her collection includes artisan-crafted furnishings, normally available to the trade only, along with vintage and antique pieces, a selection of home accessories, lamps, and custom table linens. Susan’s signature collection is currently available online.   Select pieces are also available to view and purchase at the Workroom Cooperative located in the Spring Valley neighborhood of Washington, D.C.

Her work has included design projects as well as bespoke events in Atlanta, Cashiers, Dallas, Savannah, Washington, D.C. and the Bahamas.  She has also worked with various publications as a freelance scout and photo stylist.  In 2009, Susan was included in Traditional Home magazine’s list of “20 Young Designers” to watch.  Additionally, Susan has been featured in Vogue magazine’s Contributing Living Editor Alexandra Macon’s website Over The Moon.

“Marrying my passion for both interiors and event design, the concept for Susan Burke Studio continues to evolve, but the core idea is to celebrate beautiful rooms and parties while offering a collection of decorative objects and furniture that I truly love and would place in my own home or a client’s house.  I am excited to share a mix of new and old pieces from various sources not readily available elsewhere, and I hope to offer a fresh take on furnishings and home decor.  Whether it’s part of an artful room design or table setting for a dinner party, I hope you will find inspiration or something you love for your own home or next gathering.”
